Dates and time commitment

The introduction days take place at the end of August, but preparations begin already in the spring. As a vector, you should expect to spend about 2-4 hours per week in the spring – and more during the intro week. Here you can get an overview of activities and dates.

Vector meetings

You meet regularly with your own vector team. You decide together how often and for how long to meet, by agreement within your team. Some meet every week, while others meet a bit less frequently.

Note: Please be aware that participation in the Vector education days is mandatory.

Activities before the summer break

  • 1st education day: The first day of the mandatory education days for Vectors.
  • OPtur (skills development trip) Note: The program includes sessions on Saturday and Sunday.
  • 2nd education day: The second day of the mandatory education days for Vectors.
  • First aid course a week day in June.
  • Participation in one student council meeting

Activities during the summer break

  • Preparation trips: Many Vector teams plan to go on a joint preparation trip to a summer house during the summer break, where they finalize the program for the introduction days for their program. Some choose to do this on campus or meet elsewhere. What your Vector team decides to do is something you agree on together.

Activities after the summer break (before the Intro Days)

  • Planning meetings with the other Vectors from your programme, where you finalize plans for your activities in the intro days and the study start programme – if needed.

Intro Days

The official programme for the new students is from Wednesday to Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The afternoon and evening programmes on Thursday and Friday are optional for the new students. As a Vector, you participate in the afternoon programme alongside the new students who wish to join.

You can decide for yourself whether you want to attend the DTU Intro Party on Friday, August 28.

Activities during the autumn semester

  • Weekly cake meetings with a small group of new students – held during the lunch break. You decide the dates yourself, but they must be set before the semester begins.
  • Participation in one student council meeting
  • Possibly a cabin trip
